How long can I go without biopsy?" I am 52 years old and have had irregular periods for the last 2 years, generally light altho infrequent. This is my first post to this board. On July 1st, 13 days after my last period, I started bleeding and would go thru a super tampon about every 3-4 hours. On July 16, my gyn put me on Loestrin at triple dose for a week. It stopped the bleeding by the next evening, but that set off a terrible migraine and I stopped after 2 days. My blood work was ok - no anemia. My questions: My gyn would like to do a biopsy, but cannot until the bleeding stops. How long can this bleeding last without using a birth control pill? Since I cannot seem to tolerate the birth control pills which stopped it, do I have any alternatives to the BCP to get the bleeding to stop? How long can this go on without getting a biopsy to rule out endometrial cancer? This is my main concern. Are there any alternatives to the biopsy while bleeding? Also, I am scheduled to get a pelvic ultrasound - what can this tell the gyn re the condition and endometrial cancer? Thank you! Next message: T.
