In January I started having severe pelvic pain. Feb through April I had a total of 3 Ultrasounds (pelvis and trans vaginal)numerous pelvic exams (which didn't show the strongest pain in the same place twice),a CT scan (which came back clear),and a medication trial for IBS (which I don't have),a pelvic exam with a scrape "to check for bacteria that might have been miss" (which turned out to be gonorrhea and chlamydia testing),antibiotics, and numerous NSAIDs for pain, which upgraded to first vicodins (we didn't think they'd work my body's to adjusted to them but tried anyways)then to Ultrams. The pelvic pain still continues 24/7 with no relief in sight.May brought the meds now moved up to percocet and a visit with an OB/gyn Dr (previous vists were between family dr and CNP).Visit with ob/gyn dr. Another pelvic exam (still in center), ruled the pain was caused by my uterus.Gave me the "choice" of the Depo Provera shot or deal with it on my own (no more pain killers) and I had to the start of my next period (June 8th) to decide.I was told no the depo provera shot was not a permanent solution (even if it did work) and the purpose of it was to basically stop my periods and "put everything to sleep" and as it done that, to evaluate if I still had pain that would mean exploratory surgery and if I didn't it would tell I had common ordinary uterine pain.I was also assured that if I had any reaction from it the reaction would be taken care of (I have a bad history with Birth control (headaches/migraines,hives and welts). June brought the depo provera shot (day 3 of my period (my heaviest) and I stopped). Cut off the percocets (which meant nothing for pain at all) for a week then with another visit to ob/gyn dr they were represcibed with him saying he had no problems prescribing them until we saw if the depo provera shot works. July has brought nothing but headaches (my normal reaction to low grade birth control) and Cut off of the pain killers (they are convinced that's where headaches are coming from and not the depo)Scheduled CT scan for the 21rst to check for other things.Next ob/gyn visit isn't until the 31rst. Its now has been 7months, nothing has changed since day one and besides the period the depo shot was given on I havent had one since. I have been cut off of everything for the pain as I said and was basically told to find something over the counter (yes for the pelvic pain)for the headache Ive been given a prescription for trazadone to atleast sleep at night. Im at my wits end and i dont have much at all a quality of life anymore.any help or advice would greatly be appreciated, its nice to know I'm not alone.
