thank you for your reply. My blood group is A+. My hormone levels have always been taken on day 2-3 of my cycle. My cycles have been gradually getting longer over the past 2 years, starting at about 24 days, to now 32 days. I also suspect I may have a luteal phase defect as I ovulate only 7-10 days before my period. It took us a year to conceive. With my first pregnancy, we saw the baby's heartbeat on a scan at 6+5 (I had had some light spotting a week prior to the scan), but started bleeding again, more heavily, at 9 weeks. A second scan showed that the baby stopped growing at about 7 weeks. The second pregnancy I also had threatened miscarriage at 5 weeks, I was given progesterone to support the pregnancy, although I bled lightly again at 7 weeks and at 17 weeks. There was never any infection or any obvious cause for the bleeding. I was admitted to hospital at 18 weeks, due to pain and bleeding (clots). My 14cm subserosal fibroid was degenerating and I was going into preterm labour. At 19+2 my waters broke and my son was born minutes after(his heart was still beating and there were no obvious abnormalities). I have recently had a myomectomy to remove the 3lb fibroid and in a few months time will hopefully be able to try again. Obviously we won't know what effect the operation may have had on my ability to conceive and carry a pregnancy, but I am concerned about why it takes us so long to conceive, even when using ovulation predictors, and also so worried about miscarrying again. My consultant does not think the fibroid was the cause of the first miscarriage, or the reason it took us so long to conceive, as it was not impacting the uterine cavity or oviducts. He also cannot explain why my cycles are getting longer every month.
