ONCOLOGY: Possible Uterine cancerFrom: JA (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 30 Apr 2009 23:06:29 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 14 year OVCA Stage IV survivor who is now possibly facing uterine cancer. I have had post menopausal bleeding which I thought was resolved by an ablation I had done last September when they determined it was not cancer. Unfortunately I continued to have pain and cramping and in November I had a CT scan and an ultrasound done. This revealed two masses in my uterus. My regular OBGYN advised it was nothing more than gunk from the ablation. She scheduled a repeat ultrasound which I had done this past month. The lesions are still there and now one of them is bigger. She referred to the mass as solid, but not a fibroid. I am scheduled to see a GYN Oncologist next week for a consultation, because I have been referred to this dept does this mean it is highly suspicious for cancer? She told me either way I will have to have a full hysterectomy. My ovaries are already gone due to the OVCA so I understand it will be just the uterus, but I'm just want the appt to be here kwim?
