GYNECOLOGIC: Pain after orgasmFrom: bettyjones (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 21 Apr 2009 21:56:07 -0500 (CDT)
I've had an on going problem for the past 13 years (I'm now 32). After I have an orgasm, I have intense pain in my lower abdominal area, particularly isolated to one side of my body which lasts about 10 mins. The pain has gotten so bad that sometimes I am close to vomiting and passing out. I've noticed it only happens certain times of the month, around ovulation. Over the years I have brought this up to numerous gynecologists and no one has ever given me a straight answer of what it is. Most of them have told me to take Advil before sex. Over the past two years it is now also happening while I am jogging, always occurring around ovulation and always about 10-15 mins into my jog. Once a doctor mentioned it is a type of contraction, another doctor said it could be endometriosis but neither gave me any advice except to take over the counter pain medication.
