MENORRHAGIA: Irregular periodsFrom: Kim (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 27 Mar 2009 13:00:54 -0500 (CDT)
I have endometriosis, was on depot provera for about 5 years until May, 2007; had surgery in June, 2008 to remove left ovary & tube, endo & adhesions. Had normal (23 day cycles)from June until November, when periods stopped. Then, January 26th, period started and didn't stop until March 3rd...after being put on Provera to get it to stop. The doctor told me to take Provera for 10 days (finished March 8th), then I would have a period and start taking provera 14 days later for another 10 days. The bleeding stopped while on the provers, then started again on the 10th for 2 days...then started again on the 23rd. I started the provera again on the 22nd. It hasn't been a lot of bleeding this time, just dark brown/black discharge (enough for a panty shield) and lots of clots. When should this stop? When I am done with the provera, should I expect another period?
