MENORRHAGIA: Question about BCP and missed periodsFrom: worried (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 24 Mar 2009 20:19:10 -0500 (CDT)
I went on Microgestin (generic Loestrin) to fix my irregular periods and it screwed them up even more. I was on it for many months and then my OBGYN switched me to Loestrin 24 FE to see if it would work better. On 1/29 I started my last pack of generic. I then bled from 2/7 through 2/22. I started a new pack of Loestrin 24 FE on 2/22. On 3/8 I had light spotting for about three days. On 3/22 I started another pack of Loestrin 24 FE but never got a period. I have read that you can skip periods on Loestrin but I've been sexually active and really don't like the idea of skipping even though it's a nice side effect. I never miss a pill and take it at the exact same time every night. So my questions are, why are my periods still so messed up and what are the odds that I could be pregnant even though I've been on the pill for six months?
