PREGNANCY: PLEASE HELP!! AT A LOSS!! ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS?????From: Melissa McKenzie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 24 Mar 2009 15:20:43 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 27 year old woman pregnant for the 4th time. My first pregnancy was with identical twins who delivered at 26 weeks, my second pregnancy was miscarried at 15 weeks, my third I delivered a 8lb 4 oz. healthy baby by a scheduled c section. Now 24 weeks prego. Ever since about the 12th week i have been experiencing pain in my pubic area mainly in the front more on the left side. The pain started to where i could deal with it but as the weeks have went on it has gotton progressively worse. Now whenever I walk more than 15-20 minutes at a time the pain becomes unbearable. I walk with a sort of limp and bent over because it kinda eases the pain. I cannot turn over in bed without the pain shooting thru my pubic area. It feels like someone is trying to rip me apart at the private area. Whenever I use my legs this happens walking, going up stairs, putting on pants, getting in or out of the car, picking up my 2 year old, etc... I have told my ob doctor and told my ob doctor and all he can do is smile and say this is part of being pregnant. THis is like no pain I have ever felt in my life and never thought being pregnant would basically stop every day activities. I cannot grocery shop for myselft cause of the pain from walking and I have now called "sick" out of work for the last week cause of the pain. I work in a manufacturing plant and stand and walk for a full 8 hours. I went to the ER one night in pain and the doctor on call there gave me a shot of demerol that took the pain away for a full like 12 hours but it did return. the er doc also said i had a dropped uterus. Does anyone know anything that could be causeing this much pain? I did a search and found something called SPD (symphasis Pubis Dysfunction) it sounds like everything i describe but also says mainly diagnosed in the UK and not USA???? Any help??
