GYNECOLOGIC: Vaginal IrritationFrom: Kirsty (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 22 Mar 2009 00:49:04 -0500 (CDT)
About four weeks ago I was cut by my partners fingernail during sex and I bled a little bit after sex for a day or so. Almost immediately after this i felt extremely irritated as though I had a bad case of thrush. It burned when I urinated and I was extremely itchy and sore. I did a thrush treatment and it got better but still felt irritated. I went to the doctor and she examined me and couldn't see anything unusual. She said it was possibly thrush and did STD tests and also tested for thrush and bacterial vaginosis and all came back negative. I am still feeling very uncomfortable, itchy and slightly sore and some certain spots seem to sting a little bit. I have looked for anything unusual and cannot see anything in the spots that sting. I have no unusual discharge, no unusual odours everything is normal apart from the constant irritation. I use fragrance free soap free cleanser on the area and do not use any perfumed toilet paper. I have not used any new detergents or anything. Any ideas on what could be causing this would be much appreciated thanks.
