ABDOMINALPAIN: left sided lower abdominal pain

First off, i want to start with my diagnoses in case my pain is related in anyway to them. i was diagnosed PCOS, PMDD, I take metformin to lower my testosterone, and I have a tubaligation. Yesterday, I was just ending my period (spotting a little), I started cramping on the lower left side of my abdominal. I just thought it was (strangely) period cramps. The pain started getting more painful, hard to walk, sit, move (in certain ways), or lay down. it's tender to touch, but feels better to lay directly on the left side. Today, pain has gotten worse than when it began. I have heard intercourse helps with cramps, so I asked my husband to try it. sex relieves some of the pain, but not all. Since yesterday the pain and tenderness has moved up my abdominal, under my ribs, but is still relieved with sex. I haven't gone to the Dr. because I doubt anything can be done, except give me pain meds. I have vicodin here at home, and hate to take it. I just want to make sure it doesn't sound like anything more severe than just plain crampings. Thank you for your time.
