MENOPAUSE: Perimenopause

I have had several appointments with my primary care physician over the last few weeks for low energy and fatigue symptons. Several tests were ran and it was determine that I needed a monthly B-12 shot. I just had my second B-12 shot today and while there requested to have my hormornes tested because of an Oprah show about perimenopause. The nurse just called me with the results and said that my lab work is consistent with perimenopause. I ask her what does that mean and if I needed to schedule a time with the doctor to discuss. She responded that "It was just life." I told her that I was still feeling tired even after the B-12 shots.

My question to you is what does having symtons consistent with perimenopause mean? Should I look into getting some type of hormone treatment? I will turn 42 in June. It scares me to think that I will feel tired daily for the next ten years. I need the energy to complete the normal tasks of life. Please help I am driven to tears.

Thanks You Kindly.
