If you did oophorectomy and left the uterus, you will be concerned about the cervix and CIN and above all the heavy period. I assume total hyterectomy with removal of the cervix is the best solution for all the problems. If durring the operation the surgeon found that the ovaries looked benign, he would have the decision to leave over one of the ovaries after clearing it of the cysts. If the cysts were destroying most of the ocvaries or he will not be sure if what was left over is going to be functioning, then the safest is to remove the ovaries straightforward as well.
