PREGNANCY: Dysfunctional uterine bleeding followed by a chemical pregnancy?From: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 23 Feb 2009 18:01:52 -0600 (CST)
For the last year and a half I've had dysfunctional uterine bleeding. I start to bleed lightly on day 17 and bleed daily until my period starts. My period is then 7 days long and then I quit bleeding from cycle day 8 until it starts again on cycle day 17. The problem? I've been to several Ob's and none of them know what is wrong but none of them have done any tests. The only tests I've had is a pap which was negative and several u/s which were all negative. They put me on prometrium starting on cycle day 17 which controlled the bleeding for the most part but on February 11th I got a positive HPT followed by a positive beta test. It turned out to be a chemical pregnancy. I'm crushed and my OB says it's no big deal just try again. She says my irregular bleeding isn't related to my pregnancy loss. Is that true? I don't want to go through this again. I've had 2 successful pregnancies and I'm otherwise healthy. Thanks
