It is the same pill, hormone wise, but the loestrin 24 contains 3 additional pills, more on that later. The generic may have less additives or different ones that may make it work differently, so I would go back to the loestrin 24 and see if bleeding clears up.

Now, if you take a 21 day pack, you start on sunday, so your period will come during the week. On a 24 day pill, start on thursday, so your period will come during the week, not the weekend, so start the loestrin 24 on the thursday of your bleed week...Dr. von Almen
