CONTRACEPTION: Contraceptive pill causing symptoms of UTI?

For roughly 5 years now, I have been on a regimin of Low-Ogestrel for the purpose of suppressing my menstrual cycle, to control the pain of adenomyosis. Low-Ogestrel is recommended because I also have a fibroid in my uterus. I started a new pack of pills six days ago. By possible coincidence, I also started having the symptoms of an UTI: painful urination, feeling the need to urinate even after I have emptied my bladder, lower back pain. As it happens, I forgot to take yesterday's pill, and I had none of these symptoms. I took only one pill today and the symptoms have returned. My question is this: is there any literature that I can research that might provide me with clues as to whether the Low-Ogestrel is causing my discomfort? My "scientific" plan here is to skip the pill tomorrow, take one the day after, and so forth, to see if my hypothesis bears out. Any suggestion or information from anyone is welcome. Thank you!
