GENERAL: Can there be something wrong with an ovary that's not visible? From: So Sad (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 23 Jan 2009 12:22:06 -0600 (CST)
I've had a lot a trouble with one of my ovaries in the past. It started with large cyst. After that, it was detached from the pelvic wall and subsequently 6 months later detached from the colon. It's now been 6 weeks since that surgery, but I was already back in pain at 4 weeks and had an ultrasound at 5 weeks. There was a very small cyst, but it shouldn't be causing this kind of pain. So when there isn't anything visible like a large cyst, enlargement, torsion or anything obvious on ultrasound, what could it be? Could there be something intrinsically wrong with the ovary itself (like something buried deep inside)? Even if it's stuck to something again, it shouldn't be this bad already, should it? I'm just at a loss here.
