GYNECOLOGIC: Cervix Pain/Pinching plus dysmenorrhea and menorrhaghiaFor more information on symptoms and treatment of endometriosis visit www.EndometriosisZONE.org. From: anonymous@obgyn.netMon, 12 Jan 2009 02:10:52 -0600 (CST)
I'm 46 and have had two children. For a number of years, I have had a pain off and on in my cervix (I don't care if most websites I visit say the cervix has little innervation/feeling. IT HURTS). It feels as if someone has pliers inside me, pinching tightly and twisting. It lasts for a few minutes and goes away and is worse when I have my period (which has been extremely heavy, usually includes lots of clotting and debilitating pain and is long in duration for over 15 years). I have no insurance. Back when I did (10 yrs ago), the doctor said the changes were perimenopause and put me on birth control pills. That lessened symptoms, but once I reached 40, I figured the risks of the pill were too high and I went off them. Plus, no more insurance. This same doctor told me I had a normal pap smear, which I found odd, since I'd had dysplasia in the past, HPV, cone biopsy, cryosurgery, etc., back around 20 years ago (after 2nd child was born). I thought dysplasia wouldn't go away completely. Anyway, as I reached my 40s the pinching pain's worse and more frequent. Could it just be the inside cells growing outside? I'm no longer sexually active (divorced and not active), but also feel as if I could have an infection of some sort. I recently tried OTC yeast med and the applicator caused slightly bleeding. I also get occasional dischage, more watery than yeast-like. I'm concerned about cervical cancer, and with no insurance, VERY concerned if something really is wrong. Any advice is appreciated.
