I had it checked out, ultra sound and blood work, and everything came out fine. I had been having problems with pms for several months over the summer, fatigued to the point of barley being able to get out of bed as well as very emotional. I began taking ortho evra last August and have had my period come every 28 days like clock work with only slight pms symptoms, though still have the between period spotting. This month I started having very painful cramps a week early, but the first day of cramping no bleeding. The second day I had a large amount of very thick dark red/brown discharge. This turned into a very heavy bright red flow. It was so heavy I had to wear both a tampon and a pad to make it between breaks at work without bleeding through my clothes. The third day was just a thick black paste. Also I should probably note that during this time I was having pains in my chest where the sternum and clavical meet.
