GENERAL: A Yeast Infection that Won't Go AwayFrom: Jeanette (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 24 Dec 2008 06:32:05 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I've had a yeast infection for almost two months. I have taken Monistat, Canesten, and Diflucan twice. None of these treatments have worked for me. They have only lessened the symptoms or made them dissapear for about a day, but the yeast infection always comes back and always gets worse. My symptoms include a white clumpy discharge, itching, redness, and burning. It's also itchy between my legs, around my anus, on my lower back and around my stomach. I don't see my doctor again until January 5th, and I don't know what to do anymore for relief. I have drastically cut back on eating sugar, yeast, and wheat. I take probiotics every day. I'm 30. I am not pregnant and am healthy. I am not having sex at all, because of this problem. The only thing that has been wrong is I've been depressed and very stressed. I just don't know what to do. I have heard of boric acid, but I am afraid this will be harmful. If anyone has any advice, that would be great. ~Jeanette
