I would like to know if there is any possibility of a link between emotional /eating disorders and the hormonal changes normal or otherwise in a womans body? I am in my mid twenties and have been diagnosed with a social anxiety disorder and possibly an eating disorder.I understand that in most cases of these kinds a womans menstrual cycle can stop or be disturbed by these problems, But with me it began the other way round. Let me explain...My menstrual cycles have always been unpredictable and from when they began (at 13) the slightest emotional upset would stop them. I have been away from home on three occasions and each time I stop menstruating and loose weight. The weight loss always comes after my menstrual cycle has stopped and it has been as much as up to 25kg.I also go into deep depression. I never experienced these problems in my younger days only from about the age of 15 up. It seems to me that some how my hormones affect my emotional health. Is this possible? Can something be done ? What kind of doctor would I need to see? Please I need some help on this. thank you.
