CHRONICPAIN: Pelvic pain and physical therapyFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSat, 29 Nov 2008 22:36:04 -0600 (CST)
Hello, I have endometriosis and recently had my 10th lap for laser removal of the endo and adhesions. This time, my doctor also told me he suspects I have adenomyosis. I have also been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis and pelvic floor muscle disfunction. I am not sexually active and have no children. Physical therapy was recommended for the pelvic floor muscles, but the doctor stressed that I should not do kegels. I work in health care and I feel like the exercise the therapist has given me are like the kegels we have patients do. Also, I am experiencing a lot more pelvic pain and cramping since starting physical therapy. Is this normal to begin with? Anothe symptom I have developed is when it is close to time for my period and when I'm having my period I can no longer use tampons because they increase the cramping so much and sometimes even sitting down creates a feeling of "fullness". Any ideas what this could be and how to decrease this? Thanks!
