WEIGHTMANAGEMENT: Nausea, Menopause and PCOS

I am in my early 40's and I believe I am going through pre-Menopausal symptoms. Since this summer I have noticed that every other month I have a brown discharge and then the next month a normal period. At the beginning of Sept. though, I noticed that I was feeling a little nauseous for a few days. I brushed it off as just maybe indigestion. Then a few weeks later, I got nauseous again for again and it lasted for almost 2 weeks, then I was about to get my period and I did, but it was light with a brown discharge. A little over a week after my period was over, I got really nauseous once again, this time it was worse. My appetite waned and I was really sensitive to smells, including food. I also had an aversion to food. The chronic nausea lasted for over 2 weeks. I finally got my period a couple of days ago and the nausea left. It goes almost suddenly as it comes on suddenly. In 2001 I had a vaginal ultrasound where the endrocronologist said I might have PCOS. He took further hormonal tests and he said I was "OK". That was that. Nothing further was done. I'm not sure if I even have PCOS. I am dreading when my period is over again and once more I have to go through nausea, if indeed this is somehow related to my cycle. It seems to get worse as the months have gone on. Does this sound normal?
