Janice Partial tubal obstruction is blockage of one of the fallopian tubes, usually by infection. There is usually no way to fix it, and if bad enough, you could be infertile or at risk for ectopic pregnancy. The pain you are having is because the HSG has tried to push dye thru the obstructed tube and is now painful. Please sit down and talk to your doc about all this. You need to set up a long range plan about your fertility and it probably will entail some form of assisted reproduction...Dr. von Almen
