CHRONICPAIN: is it unusual for obgyn's to give pudendal nerve blocks?

I see an obgyn/pelvic pain specialist for pelvic pain, but he's almost 2 hours away, over winter, I like to get a more local obgyn to possibly help me with these injections, I get them every other week. The obgyn's that I've asked so far seem surprised that I'm getting this done because they don't do it.

Is this type of injection really that unusual?

thanks
