MENOPAUSE: Vaginal dryness - estrogen or alternativesFrom: Hope Waltman (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 27 Sep 2008 12:21:03 -0500 (CDT)
Dr. William Parker's book - A GYNECOLOGIST SECOND OPINION Page 178 - "The tissue of the vagina needs estrogen to stay healthy and elastic. If taken when menopause begins, estrogen, either vaginal cream or vaginal pill form, is effective in preventing these changes. Alternative remedies such as calendula cream, vitamin E oil, progestrone cream can also be helpful for women who cannot or do not want to take estrogen. Frequent intercourse or manual stretching of the vaginal tissue also helps to maintain its elasticity." Bionovo's VG101, for the treatment of vaginal dryness, at the 19th Annual Meeting of the North American Menopause Society in Orlando, Florida on September 26, 2008. Vaginal dryness is a very painful, day to day, quality of life concern for over 50% of menopausal women. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/123069.php Regards, Hope Waltman, Fibroid Forum and WH Forum Moderator http://www.hopeforfibroids.org http://www.doctorsinfoweb.com/doctors.htm UTERINE FIBROIDS INFO: http://www.obgyn.net/fibroid-resource-center/ http://www.obgyn.net/fibroid-resource-center/?page=articles/patient_articles
