GENERAL: Irregular bleedingFrom: DRS (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 29 Jul 2008 08:59:01 -0500 (CDT)
Im hoping for some advice. A year ago at 45 I had a ovary removed due to Endo. I have had spotting between periods for over a year now. I have had ultrasounds, a transvaginal ultrasound, a full blood work up including thyroid, a D&C with a polyp removal and a hysterscopy. Everything is showing I am fine so the doctor and I are assuming that I am going thru perimenopause. I have had several periods since the D&C in February but I missed my period completely last month which never happened to me before. I had a inner ear infection July 1st and ended up on 875MGs of Amoxicillin 2x a day for 10 days. When I started the medication, I started spotting. I have spotted all the way up to my period 12 days ago and its finally tapering off. With that history, my doctor says that I could go on the mini-pill to try and regulate my hormones for a few months and then I could get the NovaSure procedure. Im not fond of the idea of burning my insides out and havent ready a lot of positive reviews for my type of situation. Im confused on what to do, should I just roll with the changes, go on the mini-pill for awhile or do the Novasure, or is there some other test my doctor is missing? Thank you for any advice.
