This basically means I go through bouts of a hivey rash that is caused by my immune system attacking my body. One specific branch of this is known as autoimmune progesterone dermatitis. It's when your body is allergic to it's own progesterone, and you get a urticarial rash during or immediately before your period. There are no tests that are commercially available to test this. However, National Jewish Hospital in Colorado does offer a test for general autoimmune urticaria, and if you took it during your PMS period my GUESS would be that the results would tell you whether you were having an autoimmune reaction. I live out in NY, but my dermatologist knew of the test and he had my blood drawn and sent to National Jewish, who had the results faxed back to him. It might be a big pain to find a doctor to go through all that trouble for you, but if you do the legwork for them it also might make it hard for them to say no. Try googling autoimmune progesterone dermatitis and see if it sounds to you like what you are going through. Good luck.
