Hello,

I went to my GY about ten days after being with my boyfriend due to pain in the vaginal area. The day we were together I felt no pain, the following day, I felt some pain and had a few spots of blood which I thought was my period starting but wasn't.

My GY said he saw a tear and that it would heal in a week or two, it had been ten days when I went to him. He rans tests for STD's which came up clean. I went back to him twice, he said he thought I had a fistula and referred me to a doc outside of my insurance network. I saw her yesterday, she saw a small tear that was healing. The tear is at the base of the vagina between there and the rectum.

It hurt when she put a very small speculum in and burned after for a while. I explained that there was pain on the outside of the labia, not on the inside and that it runs up the side of each labia and seems to start at the base. She said it can take longer for tears to heal, prescribed estrogen cream and said each time I wipe I could be irritating it.

What I don't understand how the pain can be up and around the vagina if the tear is at the bottom, why is it so sensitive to touch the outter areas outside of the labia? Should a tear take this long to heal? I have not had sex since that day. I looked up info on line and read about vulvar dysesthetic and vestibultis and am stressed silly that this is what it is.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Lisa
