Re: PREGNANCY: 16 weeks and carrying really lowFrom: Pat Sonnenstuhl (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 22 Apr 2008 19:19:04 -0500 (CDT)
You didn't indicate which pregnancy this was. I would think about a bladder infection, and the uterine position at this time. Sometimes it is really low, pressing on the bladder like you are describing. Also, twins is another thought. And maybe a short cervix, associated with any kind of cervical manipulation. It most likely is not a serious thing, as your uterus will move up, out of your pelvis. But as we don't know all of these details, hard to tell. I certainly would talk it over with your OB provider, and be certain they have ruled out a bladder infection. If you have had several babies, this might also be an associated factor. Do you feel it is getting worse than it was when you saw your OB last week? If so, I think I would call and at least discuss it further.
