STD: possible hpv or other vaginal infection - how urgent?From: anonymous@obgyn.netFri, 29 Feb 2008 05:00:57 -0600 (CST)
I am 24 years old and currently in a monogamous sexual relationship - it's the first sexual relationship I've had for about 8 months. We've been having sex for a little over a month, and yesterday, when I woke up, I noticed a small growth on my vagina that could possibly be a genital wart. I've also noticed a small, slightly painful bump just above my vagina. I have been having some abdominal pain for over a week, and also noticed minor bleeding after sex. I know I need to see a doctor. My question is - how urgently? I'm currently working in rural Thailand, and I would prefer not to go to the small government hospital near my village. If it's really quite urgent, I will go to Bangkok asap. Can I wait two or three weeks?
