There is a small number of women who experience spotting in various degrees with metformin. The underlying lining of the uterus changes with metformin but several things should be done: careful gyn exam and pap ultrasound of ovaries to look for polyps 10 days of provera or prometrium to help the lining shed effectively. If there are no answers, please let me know. Dr.Futterweit
