Since I am 44yrs old, I have expected some irregularity. Yet, since I am currently without medical insurance (due to divorce), I thought I might seek some advise here. Is it merely pre-menopausal symptoms when my cycle, which has always been like clockwork in the past, has become so erratic that I'm afraid to leave the house without feminine protection? One month it's late. The next it's early. One month it's barely noticeable, then the next it never ends. This past month was right on time and ended a full 5 days later, only to start again 1 week afterwards for another full 5 days! I have noticed some extreme irritability pre-menopause, which I never recognize until after the fact. Also, I have occasional bouts with hot flashes and difficulty sleeping. I realize that is fairly normal. I just never though my cycle would become this frustrating and am wondering how "normal" this is? -- Thank you for any consideration to my concerns.
