As this is bleeding at the right time to have a period, even though it is light, I would count it as a period. However, with your strange bleeding, you need to do something to document your cycle, either basal temperature charting or ovulation predictor kits. That way you can tell what is happening more scientifically instead of just guessing. Hope this helps...Dr. von Almen
