Reply: William F. von Almen, II, MD, FACOG: "Re: PREGNANCY: Mucous plug/dilation?" I am 25 weeks with quadruplets. Over the past few days I have noticed a snot-like mucous coming out when I wipe. My doctor last checked my cervix this past Sunday (6 days ago) and he said I was still long and closed but about 1 cm dilated because I have had a vaginal birth in the past. I have not really noticed very many contractions. I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday (which includes a cervical check). Should I wait until then? Could this be normal? Thanks.
