Re: TOOMANYSYMPTOMS?: This has to resemble some known disease or problem but I can't figure it out. From: Walter Futterweit, MD, FACE,FACP (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Sep 2007 19:15:41 -0500 (CDT)
I noted with interest your email re: the bodyhair and sweats. The cause of COARSE body hair throughout the body is a sign of male hormone abnormalities. Most endocrinologists agree that a symptom like this requires investigation for polycystic ovary syndrome. What are your periods like? Moreover, sweats possibly may be a reflection of insulin excess and I have noted this in the histories of at least 40% of my PCOS patients. A good start is to get an endocrinologist who also will check for adrenal disorders and insulin resistance and perform routine thyroid tests. More info is really needed, and love to hear a follow-up on your malady. Best wishes, Walter Futterweit, MD
