Re: CONTRACEPTION: DiaphragmFrom: Ashleigh (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 30 Aug 2007 12:56:06 -0500 (CDT)
Thank you so much for your answers. I have tracked my eating and do not notice any changes at that time of the month. It always falls in the time period right after ovulation so I suspect that it is hormonal. When I eat carbs during month I get the YI and when I don't eat carbs (limit to 20 - 25 carbs per day) I get the infection. It's driving me crazy! That's why I thought maybe the BC pill would help by regulating my hormones. I didn't get them until I went off the pill. About the doctors visit - I've read that you have to put the diaphragm in at the doctors' office to "practice". Is that always the case? I think that would be really awkward - I'm really uncomfortable during my pelvic exams. Finally - do you have to use spermicide with the diaphragm? Does it significantly decrease efficacy if you don't use spermicide?
