I'm a 22 year old mother of 2. During my second pregnancy, I suffered from a failed miscarriage at 8 weeks gastation. Doctors found that my left ovary had turned into a tumour that kept growing. At 14 weeks gastation surgery was performed and my left ovary and tube were removed, my daughter was born about 32 weeks gastation. (My uterus is small and won't hold anything much bigger then a four pound baby.) After my daughter was born I noticed my menstral cycles were off. I stayed on birth control for a year. It made my cycle extreamly irregular. A year after her birth, I had lite periods that went on for 5 weeks, they would end and a week later I had heavy flow and clotting for about 3 days. Then a month later it would be the same cycle. My perscription ran out and my cycles a little more regular but I am not the same person I was. I get very angry very easy. I have thoughts of suicide. My mood swings are uncontrollable. And I'm depressed alot. I manage a normal life. I just want to be happy. I'm afraid that I might be menopausal but I don't know how to tell with out the money to see a doctor. Is it normal to go into menopause after a unilateral oophorectomy? Also, what are the chances of me having another child later on in life with only one ovary?
