MENORRHAGIA: Why an endometrial aspiration?From: anonymous@obgyn.netTue, 28 Aug 2007 21:29:07 -0500 (CDT)
I have had extremely heavy cycles since they started at 11 yrs old. Since my old GP had put me on a one brand of pill several years ago, I have had issues with them being even heavier with extremely heavy clotting. My new GP did my regular exam, but also ordered a transvaginal ultrasound. The pap, to the best of my knowledge came back normal (and all previous ones have been as well). The ultrasound should an ovarian cyst and GP is now requesting to do an endometrial aspiration. Why this now on top of the other tests? How is this related to the cyst and what will it show that the previous tests have not? Thanks for any info!
