ULTRASOUND: Second opinion about thick endometrium and bulky uterus

Dr Von Almen, gave me some advise last week in regards to my bulky uterus(14cmx4.6cmx6.9cm) and thick endometrium (14mm) even after 4 weeks or so of bleeding. The advise was that I would need a D&C and a biopsy done, this was also the advise of my local GP. I was lucky enough to get in to see a gyne specialist yesterday. (Or was it really bad luck? sorry for the negative attitude!). I have concerns in regards to the 'treatment only' option that he has prescribed. I am essentially after a second opinion. He said I have a 'Dysfunction'! and possibly adenomyosis. He said straight up that I need MIRENA which is (in Australia at least) an inuteruterine levonorgestrel delivery system which works directly on the uterus to decrease the amount of endometrial build up. He did not suggest any other tests other than a full blood work up. My question so far is that would this intrauterine delivery system fix any adenomyosis, IF I do have this condition in the first place. What other tests can be done to confirm this what I call a 'sloppy and can't be bothered diagnosis.' As you can imagine this is sooooo extremely frustrating for me. My specialist also said that I am in 'DENYAL OF MY CONDITION'! which is unbelievable, due to the fact that I have tried everything in the book to stop these periods of bleeding. I mean 24 years of constant irregular or dysfunctional bleeding, cramping of which period pain relieve medication does little at times, heavy clotting, extended periods of bleeding. I am wonderiong whether it is worth trying to get a second opinion from another Gyne. here in Australia, or will they say the same thing? Thank you in advance for your time and patients. Michelle.
