Re: PREGNANCY: Home test says yes-twice and Dr. says No I am not!?From: Christina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 28 Aug 2007 13:59:35 -0500 (CDT)
I think there are some medications that can cause a false positive on a pregnancy test. Are you on any medications? Although I think the ones that produce a false positive are fertility drugs, and from the sounds of it you're not trying to get pregnant. I would have to say I would believe the blood test over the pregnancy test. Maybe the home pregnancy test was defective or something. Even in an ectopic (my case) my home pregnancy test was almost unreadable positive (I barely had enough hcg to detect) but I had almost 1,000 hcg in the blood test.
