Have you had a transvaginal ultrasound? It sounds like that would be the first course of action. I would not wait. It will rule out anything bad and help to diagnose the problem. I would seek the advice of another dr. if you are not happy with the one you have.
I don;t know that you would actually feel a lump if it were a tubal, I assume you feel it externally. It may be a functional cyst, but again you would not feel that externally. Your bowel is in the vicinity of the ovary and it could indeed by herniated. Not anything to "fart" around with. : ).
