I too am 41 and planning to have this procedure done this summer. My OBGYN uses the Novasure. Do a search on it. I have already had my tubes tied, so I dont have to worry about the pregnancy part. I have never heard of the tubal sterilaztion syndrome. good luck, I am so ready to get rid of my montly cycles!
