Next in thread: William F. von Almen, II, MD, FACOG: "Re: GENERAL: bleeding during intercoarse" Reply: William F. von Almen, II, MD, FACOG: "Re: GENERAL: bleeding during intercoarse" i am a 26 year-old female, with no gynecological health problems. i have been experiencing bleeding during intercourse since i started dating my boyfriend three months ago. there is no pain or discomfort, and the blood is bright red and usually stops almost immediately after. I just had my annual exam in January, and everything was normal. my theory is that my cervix is being irritated during sex (he is well-endowed) and that this is causing the blood (uterine lining, maybe?) is my cervix actually being damaged and bleeding, or is my uterus just releasing some menstual blood? is there anything i can do to prevent this from happening? i am also a type-1 diabetic, but do not believe that this is related to my disease.
