MENORRHAGIA: childhood x rays and uterine cancerFrom: Maria (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 25 Mar 2007 12:06:41 -0500 (CDT)
Hi everyone. I am so glad that the forum is back. Just a real quick question. I was born with a pelvic kidney. Because of this, I had to have a lot of xrays and radiation as a child. One procedure is called a VCUG...I had this many times growing up. I am 41 years old now. No kids. Never had an abnormal pap, but I know endometrial cancer is sneaky. As an adult, I now have bleeding in between periods. The doctor is going to perform some tests, but she feels that I do not have cancer. I can't help but worry. I've been bleeding between periods for a few years off and on, and my previous gyn did an ultrasound and said that my endometrial lining was 4mm, which was thin, and that everything looked ok. I'm worried about cancer from the xrays. What do you guys think? Maybe I'm just paranoid...
