bacterial vaginosis curing with Monistat?From: Sasha (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Sep 2003 05:11:15 -0500 (CDT)
Hi- I have PCOS/ and about 5-7 yeast/ BV infections a year. I am pretty good at figuring out when I have which- though I do visit the doctor when I think its BV. I was wondering if I make a mistake and do have BV and I treat it with Monistat- would it be okay? also...the fact I have reoccuring infections- will it cause any harm to my body? Currently, I am trying to lower my weight and eat healthier- less carbs- I am not diabetic, but many family memebers are- though I have seen a many doctors including a specialist about PCOS... my blood sugar seems fine. All tests normal... but why am I getting so many infections? This started before I was told I have PCOS- which now, I take metformin for. I'm not on any medications/steroids... could I be somewhat pre-diabetic and my blood sugar be causing this? Thanks, Sasha
