Re: Vaginal Fissures...*Not* Yeast?? Help!From: Cindy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 31 Aug 2003 10:10:30 -0500 (CDT)
I can commiserate, Lea. I get them all the time too, usually in the creases of my labia. all tests negative. docs think it's related to my Crohn's disease (if all else fails, blame it on the Crohn's). I use Desitin to cover the ones that are in the line of fire when I urinate to keep me from yelping whenever I go. other than that, I haven't found anything that works. a couple things that seem to reduce the number is the regular mantra: white, cotton undies, don't use a wash cloth, just your hand, no soap or a very mild one (neutragena), etc. oh, and try out a bunch of different types of TP and find which one is least offending (low lint factor is good) and blot only don't wipe. I did have a chronic yeast infection which I finally got rid of after 9 months of continuous Diflucan twice a week. but still get the fissures....
