AdhesionsFrom: Anna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Aug 2003 21:37:27 -0500 (CDT)
My name is Anna and I am 40 years old. I had 4 hours of surgery last year to remove adhesions from my right ureter. My overies where also removed. The adhesions came from a vaginal hysterectomy about 6 years prior. There was a 2" section of my ureter that was collapsed. The Dr. had to actually cut the ureter in order to insert a stint. Now a little over a year later, and 3 stints later, my ureter is again collapsed and I am again in pain. My Dr. wants to remove the collapsed section and pull my bladder up to reconnect the ureter. I'm not sure I should do this. I have been through alot with this and fear the surgery may make things worse instead of better. I am looking for some advice or maybe the name of a specialist I could see. Any help would be appreciated!!!!! I feel very frustrated. I'm not sure what to look for in a specialist. I do understand that my insides are a mess and have been told laproscopic surgery would be imposible. Thanks for any advice. I really feel at a loss. Sincerely, Anna
