drastic weight loss from thyroid probs. does this affect ovulation? From: holly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Aug 2003 16:05:02 -0500 (CDT)
thyroid was nuked in 1999. gained 44 pounds that year after the nuking. synthroid dose was 200mcg. things went nuts in november 2002 right after a laparoscopy. had bloodwork every 6 weeks and gradually lowered synthroid dose. down to 88mcg, then back up to 112. this month, i lost 12 pounds in 10 days. doc lowered synthroid even more to 75mcg. but i'm worried about ovulation now. will the weight loss affect that? also, is it possible that even though my thyroid was ablated twice, there might still be part of it that is functioning and going haywire? what else could be causing the problems? i'm just sick of changing doses all the time. i have a rainbow of samples in my med cabinet.
