Reply: Rachel: "Re: cysts on ovary and fibroids?" I have been experiencing extreme pains on my right pelvic side so I went to the doctor and they did a sonogram. The results came back a quarter sized cyst on my right ovary and fibroids on my left side. The doctor told me that it is normal to have a cyst on my ovary and that it was benign and I shouldn't worry. He said that every woman has them. I was under the impression that they must remove anything on your ovary. He also said that the fibroids were extra muscle and that I shouldn't worry about that either. He didn't help me at all about the pain issue. I am in severe pain on my right side. I just wanted to know if he is correct about the cyst not being a big deal. How can tell it is benign just from a sonogram and pelvic exam? What is your recommendation. Thanks!
