Thickening of the Uterus wall and uterine cancerFrom: Nora (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 30 May 2003 21:49:15 -0500 (CDT)
What are some causes for the thickening wall. I have 6mm thickening wall which the radiologist said was somewhat nodular. I also have polyps and fibroid. I have been doing well with light periods and little pain. My periods were the normal 5 days and sometime 6weeks apart but this last week I have been bleeding heavy with clots. I had a pelvic/transvagingal ultrasound which resulted in also doing a sono histogram. The results are stated above. Last year, I had heavy bleeding and a ultrasound was done. I had a normal anteverted uterus which measure 7.6 x4.2 x5.8 cm. There were two small nabothian cyst in the lower uterine segment which measure about 5 mm. The endometial stripe appeared normal and measures 7.8 mm in greatest thickness There was a 1.5 cm cyst in the left ovary and a small physiologic cyst in the right ovary 3-4mm. How can this change in one year. I havent had any problems other than back pain which is due to being overweight and history of a cervical fracture. I had a biopsy and I'm waiting for the results. What are the chance of a cure with having a total hysterectomy.
